For the first time in its history, the American Venous Forum (AVF) included a dedicated session focused on pulmonary embolism (PE) in its 2026 annual meeting (28 February–4 March, Denver, USA) program. AVF executive committee member Patrick Muck (Cincinnati, USA), who delivered one of the talks, speaks to Venous News shortly after the session about the rapidly developing PE treatment landscape, including brand-new guidelines and the concept of “tissue identification”.
