Mahmood Razavi (Orange, USA) reported new data from a subanalysis of the VIRTUS trial, which set out to investigate the safety and efficacy of the Vici stent (Boston Scientific). The subanalysis forms part of the first prospective multicentre corelab adjudicated study that looked at correlates of clinical outcomes. It shed light on various baseline and procedural factors that are associated with clinical improvement as measured by Venous Clinical Severity Score (VCSS), one year after stenting. These included severity of patient symptoms before the procedure and lumen morphology after stent placement.
