The International Union of Phlebology World Congress (UIP) will head to Turkey in 2021 after Istanbul successfully won the bid to be the host city of the next meeting.
The battle for the host city of UIP 2021 was hotly contested in a series of presentations that took place at the most recent UIP World Congress in Melbourne, Australia. Other contenders for hosting job were London and Prague. Istanbul put on quite a show, complete with local belly dancers, to really illustrate what it has to offer as a city.
Making the announcement, Kürsat Bozkurt said, “first of all, we would like to congratulate the International Union of Phlebology, Dr Kurosh Parsi and the council members for the successful congress. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each member once again for all the support and for selecting Istanbul as the next congress destination. Hosting such a prestigious event in Istanbul will be a great honour for us. We will put all our efforts into this congress to make it more successful. We hope to see you in Istanbul in 2021!”
The UIP World Congress of Phlebology 2021 will be held 25–31 October 2021. The congress will be held in association with the Turkish National Society of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery.
